Lyla, her aunt Keitha and her mother Kaitlyn feel the impact of a world where the Health of the Nation controls every element of people’s lives.

Everything changes when Lyla reluctantly agrees to participate in a disappearing act at a magic show. She is catapulted through a portal to… somewhere else. Society is irrevocably transformed. Individuals are no longer in control of their own lives. Their homes, their jobs, even their partners, are all decided for them. The Health of the Nation is in charge. But how did we even get to this point?
