Sylvia lives with her family on a large farm. Her life changes forever when a King arrives and asks for her hand in marriage. But all is not what it seems. In the castle dungeon, Sylvia finds an unlikely friend and together they plan their escape.

Welcome to The Straw Yard, a new cultural and creative space in the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

The site is managed by Tortive Theatre and serves as the company's rehearsal and development space. In addition to Tortive's work The Straw Yard is hosting a number of creative and cultural events throughout the year from partner organisations, hirers, artists, community groups and performers.
