Berwick Comedy Club @ The Straw Yard

DOORS & BAR OPEN: 6:30pm

Berwick Comedy Club is back at The Straw Yard with another evening of comedians ready to crack you up, split your sides and wet your pants with laughter (wet pants not compulsory).

This evening will feature:

Jack Fox – a stand-up comedian, rapper and musician from South Shields.

Some of you might remember Jack from when he performed here at The Straw Yard during the 2024 Berwick Food and beer Festival.

Damp Knight Comedy – After 10 years of performing, this Berwick based improv comedy group finally made their (rather successful) Edinburgh Fringe Debut last year.

Witness their surreal, unpredictable improvised comedy as they invent and scramble their way through impossible situations, ridiculous games and preposterous characters in unforgettable, high-octane comedy, inspired entirely by audience suggestions.

Plus extra guest still to be announced.

What is this “Berwick Comedy Club” stuff anyways?!

Well, during this lull in live comedy within Berwick (as we await the grand re-opening of The Maltings Theatre) the boys from Damp Knight Comedy have decided to try and re-invigorate some laughs by organising some comedy events around the town.

The plan is to have multiple venues around the area, hosting comedy that is catered to the desires, capacity and comedic tastes of each individual place. And by having it all under the umbrella of The Berwick Comedy Club, the different venues will be able to communicate so they don’t clash or over-saturate the town at the same time.

It is going to be for everyone who wants it, we will simply act as the facilitators / organisers / delivery boys – talk with us about what you are after and we can bring it to you.

“We would love to go full hog and have loads of shows straight away in all places but we know from experience that too much too fast, burns out very quickly, so we will be starting slow and building up audiences bit by bit, leading to some bigger plans and bigger shows.”
