Creative Consultation Sessions – Berwick Town of Culture 2028 (EOI Stage)

As part of Berwick’s early thinking around a potential Town of Culture 2028 bid, we are inviting members of the local creative community to take part in a series of small, facilitated consultation sessions.

These sessions are not about pitching projects or programming ideas. Instead, they are an opportunity to explore the idea of the where Berwick is and where is might position itself as part of the larger bid. This is the first stage in a much larger process, so if you can't attend one of the sessions or contribute to the digital consultation at this stage, please don't worry. A more comprehensive creative consultation will take place if we are able to proceed to the next stage.

We are keen to hear from artists and creatives working across performance, visual arts, craft, writing, heritage, and interdisciplinary practice. Sessions will be informal, conversational, and limited in size to allow for focused discussion. Insights will be fed back anonymously and form part of the Expression of Interest that must be submitted by 31st March 2026 in the hope that the town will then be approved to move to the next stage of creating a full bid to the UK Government.

The Maltings (Berwick) Trust, The Straw Yard, Berwick Town Council, Neon, Berwick Community Trust, Create Berwick and the Berwick CCZ.

Dates & times

Tuesday 10th and Thursday 12th

Four sessions per day (45 minutes each)

Tea, coffee, and snacks are provided.

Spaces are limited to 6 participants per session.

Insights from these sessions will help shape both the Expression of Interest and a wider digital consultation.

Please only book one space in one session to allow as many creatives as possible to be a part of the process.
