One of a series of workshops funded by Berwick’s Creative Action Fund as part of Anna Turnbull (of Biteabout Arts’) Artist Residency at The Straw Yard.
The series of workshops offers an introduction to basket weaving with willow. You can progress in skill development from one workshop to the next, or just attend one workshop.
As well as supporting the local creative community you’ll learn new skills, meet new people and have a laugh at the same time

Join Anna and colleagues to make your own willow swallow.

You will learn
-the basics of how to prepare and soak willow
- how to handle and manipulate soaked willow in a frame
-a simple figure of eight weaving technique
All materials, tools and refreshments provided.

Please arrive at 1.50pm.
The workshop will start promptly at 2pm.
We will finish at 5pm.

Join Anna Turnbull (of Biteabout Arts) as she leads this fantastic week filled with weaving demonstrations and workshops, all made affordable thanks to Berwick’s Creative Action Fund.
