One of a series of workshops funded by Berwick’s Creative Action Fund as part of Anna Turnbull (of Biteabout Arts’) Artist Residency at The Straw Yard.

Join Anna and colleague Sandra to make your own willow flower.

 .

You will learn

-the basics of how to prepare and soak willow

-how to handle and manipulate soaked willow

-how to weave a round base using a pairing technique

-how to add rods to create petal shapes

-how to trim your work

All materials, tools and refreshments provided.

 .

Please arrive at 1.50pm.

The workshop will start promptly at 2pm.

We will finish at 5pm.

Welcome to our first Artist’s Residency!

September sees us collaborating with Biteabout Arts for a wonderful week of willow weaving.

Join Anna Turnbull (of Biteabout Arts) as she leads this fantastic week filled with weaving demonstrations and workshops, all made affordable thanks to Berwick’s Creative Action Fund.

.

The series of workshops offers an introduction to basket weaving with willow. You can progress in skill development by attending all of the workshops, or you can just attend one workshop. It’s up yo you!

.

As well as supporting the local creative community you’ll learn new skills, meet new people and have a laugh at the same time.
